Attractions
This Pacific coast enclave is well known for its 7 miles of sandy beaches, but Laguna Beach is also an artist colony that revels in exhibits, festivals and presentations. Check out the Pageant of the Masters, the most famous of Lagunas annual art festivals. Here, "Art Comes to Life" as real people recreate scenes from legendary artwork, backed by orchestral scores. The Pageant is held every night during the summer. The Sawdust Festival, another one of Lagunas annual exhibits, showcases the work of 175 local artists. When not looking for art, you can stroll along the tide pools at Moss Street.

Recreation
Ocean lovers should check out the scuba and skin diving opportunities. Divers Cove in North Laguna is a great place to start. Check with a local lifeguard to see which beaches allow surfing but make sure to visit Main Beach and Crescent Bay. You can also go mountain biking in Laguna Canyon and Laguna Wilderness Park, or hike around in El Morro canyon.

Education
Laguna Beach has 2 public elementary schools and 1 middle school. There are also 2 private elementary schools. Students from Laguna Beach High School were featured on the MTV reality show Laguna Beach: The Real Orange County. The city is only  17 minutes away from the University of California at Irvine, ranked the 13th best public university in America by U.S. News and World Report in 2008. Other area colleges include the Laguna College of Art and Design (located within the city itself), Soka University of America, and Saddleback College.
